General information

MEP Apps are a piece of additional software on top of Revit or AutoCAD. Software equipped with functionalities (and often unique BIM data access) you cannot find in Revit. Apps are best used to complete a certain specialized workflow, like drawing piping systems with manufacturer specific content, or do something which cannot be done in Revit alone such as configuring switch ranges if you are an electrician working in Revit.
Bundles offer more value to MEP engineers and contractors compared to a single App. Through a bundle of Apps, you can tackle an entire workflow, for instance to place pipes, valves and pumps from multiple manufacturers into one Revit model. Or to place sanitary systems while adding specific equipment from certain manufacturers in one Revit model. And bundles are cheaper than buying these Apps separately so from that perspective too, it is a deal you can’t refuse.

There are 2 types of Apps available in the MEPcontent App store: free and paid.
Some paid Apps can be used for free and offer either limited content for an unlimited amount of time or full access to all functionalities but for a specified amount of time (usually one week).
To see what functionalities and/or content are included in the free and paid version of each App, go to the “What content is included” tab which can be found on each App page. Taste what the App can do and upgrade to the paid version to unlock access to all manufacturers and functionalities for a longer period of time (usually a one year subscription with an annual renewal possibility).
Free Apps – manufacturer Apps
Our manufacturer Apps offer full functionality for free, for an unlimited period of time. They are great tools when working with product lines and data from specific manufacturers such as SANHA, ABB, Poloplast, Ostendorf, JUNG, Busch-Jaeger, Niessen, Valsir, Mitsubishi Electric, Henco, Raccorderie Metalliche, etc. You do not need a credit card or MEPcontent account to download these Apps.
Paid Apps – full access to all functionalities and/or content
Paid Apps contain the full functionality and/or all available manufacturer specific content offered on the basis of a subscription. Your paid subscription starts once you upgrade after (or during) your free trial period. A subscription lasts for one year and can automatically be renewed. Read below how paid subscriptions work.

Yes, you need to sign in with your MEPcontent account details when you want to open the App in Revit or AutoCAD.
Don't have an account yet? Register now to create your MEPcontent account - it's free and it only takes a couple of minutes.
An activation email will be sent to you after registration. If you didn't receive the email, then please check the following:
  1. Check your spam or junk email folder and look for the missing email.
  2. Check if the email got blocked by your firewall.
  3. Check your inbox filter and sort settings.

Download & Install

You can download an App again either from the corresponding App download page, or by going to your account (click on the icon in the right top corner of the page or go to My subscriptions / App downloads) and click on “Details / App downloads” for the respective App that you want to download again. In the new window, click “Download App”.
This can also be useful when you want to install an App on multiple devices. Apps are associated to users so you can use an App on as many devices as you want, as long as you sign in with the same MEPcontent account. To work with multiple colleagues or partners with the App, please create a MEPcontent account for each individual to make sure you can all work with the Apps simultaneously.
Follow the installation process prompted when downloading the App. You can find more information in this document. Select ‘per user’ when you want to use the App and install the App without administrative rights. Select ‘per machine’ when you work with flexible workplaces and others also want to work on your machine when you are out of the office. This might require admin rights depending on your IT department.
The installation process of the App bundle is not different from an individual App. You can run the installation process for each App one after another until all are visible in your Revit ribbon. The App bundle is just a convenient way of acquiring multiple Apps in one transaction.
Yes. Choose the per user option in the installation process. When you want to install it with the per machine setting (handy when you work with flexible workplaces and others also want to work on your machine when you are out) you might require admin rights depending on your IT department.
The App can be uninstalled either through the ‘Change, Repair, or Remove’ screen or Add or remove programs icon Add or remove programs
Or through Windows ‘Programs and Features’. After choosing ‘Remove’ the user is guided through the following screens:
  • Ready to remove

  • Completed the Setup Wizard.

Platform support

Some Apps are available for Revit only and others are available for Revit and AutoCAD. Check the information on the specific App page for more information.

Our Apps are not available for Revit LT and AutoCAD LT versions, since Apps are not supported by Autodesk on the LT versions.
The Apps can be found under the MEPcontent ribbon in both Revit and AutoCAD.

No. Apps as we define them are only available as plugins on top of Revit or AutoCAD programs, for which you need a modern computer with enough data processing power to run these programs smoothly.
When a product line is already available in Stabicad for Revit, the App won’t work because you already have the content or functionality available in Stabicad for Revit.

A subscription is meant for users to make sure they have access for one year to all functionalities and/or all available manufacturer specific content. Subscriptions are only required for paid Apps, not for the manufacturer specific Apps like the Apps for SANHA, ABB, Henco, Rexel, Ostendorf, and POLOPLAST. The subscription price is paid annually.
A paid subscription allows users to access benefits and functionalities that trial users cannot. For example, for some Apps it can mean access to the full range of manufacturer product lines available in the App while the trial only grants access to one or part of the product lines. For other Apps it can mean extending the full functionality of the App to an unlimited amount of time (in which the subscription is active), while a trial version of the same App only allows free access for one week.
The subscription is automatically renewed which means that at the end of the subscription period, the user will be charged a renewal fee for the next period unless otherwise specified. You can toggle automatic renewal on or off depending on what you like. Read more below.
There are three ways to get a subscription. Visit the page of the App you want to download and download a free trial of it. You can now try the App according to the specific trial conditions. Sign in or Register when you open the App in Revit. Before the trial ends, you will be notified by email and invited to upgrade to a paid subscription. To subscribe to a paid version of the App, simply follow the steps indicated in the email. You can select the payment system you like: Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, PayPal or local payment systems like iDEAL, Sofortbanking, Bancontact, CarteBleue, Carte Bancaire and Giropay.
Another way to get a paid subscription is to visit the My subscriptions/downloads on the store after you have downloaded the trial version of it, and simply click the ”Purchase” button. You will then be directed to the shopping cart where you can finish your payment.
You can also upgrade within the App to the full version. Watch this video to see how you can upgrade to a full version once your one week trial has ended:

Visit the page of the App(s) you want to buy, click the “Try now” button and choose “Purchase App”. The App(s) will be added to your shopping cart.
You can then visit your shopping cart and choose how many subscriptions you would like to buy. Next, simply update your shopping cart and proceed to checkout or continue shopping.
Buy multiple subscriptions
You first need to complete your order. Then you can assign subscriptions to other users and view your subscription details on your subscription overview page.
The account that is used for buying multiple subscriptions will automatically act as an administrator, with privileges like assigning subscriptions to other users, enabling/disabling the automatic subscription renewal, and changing order details.
Go to your subscription overview page, click on “Assign user” and fill in your assignee’s email address. The email address can always be changed later by the administrator.
Assign subscriptions to others
The account that is used for buying multiple subscriptions will automatically act as an administrator, with privileges like assigning subscriptions to other users, enabling/disabling the automatic subscription renewal, viewing and changing order details.
As an administrator you can see all subscriptions assigned to you, as well as all subscriptions that you are administrating, while other users will only see the subscriptions assigned to them.
If you have purchased multiple subscriptions within the same order, you will automatically be the administrator of those subscriptions.
If you want to change the administrator, go to your order overview page and click on the “Edit order details” option which will redirect you to your order detail page. Here you can specify the new email address which will act as an administrator for this specific order. When changing the administrator to someone else you can no longer view the order.
There are several possible reasons why you get this message within the App:
  1. Your trial period expired. If you only downloaded a trial version of an App, but never upgraded to a full subscription, then you will be restricted to use the App after the trial period has ended (applicable for Stabiplan App trials, lasting one week). In this case, you need to upgrade to a full subscription in order to continue using the App.
  2. Your subscription expired. If you already upgraded for a subscription and still get the same message, it means your one-year subscription period has expired. Go to My subscriptions/Downloads to renew your subscription and continue using the App.
The automatic renewal service is a convenient way of having your subscription renewed prior to expiration, without having to remember the date or go through the entire purchase process again. One day before the subscription, we will charge you the renewal fee for the new period. The amount charged will be the subscription’s price at the time of renewal.
If the payment is successful, the App will automatically update with the new subscription. There’s nothing else you need to do! If for some reason the payment is not successful, we will let you know so you can make the payment yourself and continue using the product.
If you like to disable/enable the automatic renewal, please sign in and go to the subscription detail page in My subscriptions/App downloads. You can do this only if you are the administrator of the order; otherwise please contact your administrator.

When your subscription period ends you will be charged a renewal fee and the subscription will be extended to another billing cycle of one year. You can however, chose to stop your automatic renewal at any time. In that case, you will no longer be able to access the full functionalities and content of your selected App once your annual cycle for what you paid for has ended.

A trial represents a limited version of a paid App either with regard to time, or to content. A trial can for some Apps provide access to the full functionalities for a limited amount of time and for other Apps it can provide access to only a certain part of the manufacturer specific content for an unlimited period of time. Trial versions can be downloaded for free, without any credit card information needed. Watch below how:

When a trial ends you no longer can use all functionalities or content in the App. You will be notified by email that your trial period is about to expire as well as in the App. You will be given the possibility to upgrade to a paid subscription and continue enjoying the functionalities of the App. If you do not chose to progress with upgrading to a paid subscription, you do not have to do anything. A trial is always free of charge and no credit card needed.

Purchase & Billing

Once in a while we offer discounts and special promotions for our Apps. You can use a discount code by first adding the App that you want to purchase to the shopping cart. To do so, click on the “Purchase” button on the App’s page. In the Shopping cart section, fill in the discount code in the “Discount code” field and hit “Apply”. Your discount has now been applied and you can continue by pressing the checkout button while enjoying a price reduction. The actual reduction is shown next to the price so you know what you save. The discount is automatically added to the shopping cart if you buy one bundle with one App each. You can select the Apps of your preferred bundle one by one and the discount will appear once you have added the complete bundle of choice into your shopping cart.

No, you do not need your credit card to download a free App or a trial version of a paid App. You only need to create a free MEPcontent account, sign in with your credentials and download the Apps you want by clicking the “Download” (for free Apps) or “Try now” (for trial versions of paid Apps) buttons. You will then be able to enjoy the specific benefits of the Apps you downloaded (unlimited for free Apps and limited for trials). When you upgrade to a full version of a paid App, you can pay by Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, PayPal or local payment systems like iDEAL, Sofortbanking, Bancontact, CarteBleue, Carte Bancaire and Giropay.
Go to the page of the App you like to buy (either after your trial has expired or during your trial period) and press the purchase button. Check the shopping cart and tick the I agree with the terms and conditions box before you click on the Checkout button. Do you want to add more Apps? Press the continue shopping button. Only one App? Press the checkout button and check your invoice address details. Press continue, scroll down to the bottom of the page and press the Confirm button. Select the payment method you prefer and follow the steps provided. When the payment steps have successfully been completed, you will be redirected to the store. Open Revit and enjoy working with the paid full version of the App.

When you upgrade from a trial version of an App to a paid full version you can check your invoice address details. When you go through the entire payment process you will receive an email with the invoice attached to it so you can share it with your financial department.
To do this, you will need to be an administrator which means you have to login with the account that was used for buying the subscription(s).
Go to your order overview page where you can easily change the name of the company and the administrator, and modify the invoice email address to be used for the next payment.

Technical information

Yes. Apps are associated to users, not devices or computers. So you can work from home, from the office and from your project site (or client) with your same account and App settings.
If you have already installed the App on one device, you will most likely need to download it again on the second device that you want to install it on. You can do so by going to your account (click on the icon in the right top corner of the page or go to My subscriptions/downloads) and click “Details/downloads” for the respective App that you want to download again. In the new window, click “Download App” and follow the same installation steps as you did the first time you installed the App on the other device.
No. Apps are allocated to individual users, you can only work with one user in one App at a time.
Yes, once you install an App it will show in the Stabiplan and/or MEPcontent ribbon, in both Revit and AutoCAD. You can switch between Apps and use them without having to exit your project.
